Born from frustration, built with purpose.
BehindTheDeed was founded in 2023 when our co-founders, Sarah and Marcus, experienced firsthand the opacity and complexity of property data during their own home-buying journey. Despite being tech industry veterans, they found themselves overwhelmed by scattered information, conflicting reports, and hidden risks.
"There had to be a better way," Sarah recalls. "We had access to sophisticated data analysis tools in our professional lives, but when it came to the biggest financial decision of our lives—buying a home—we were flying blind."
